As the CM's flying squad raided a bookshop in Sector 9 today, fake NCERT textbooks were recovered. The investigation has begun.
According to ACP Rajesh Kumar, the operation was conducted in response to accusations that some stores were selling counterfeit NCERT books.
"Previously, the police had received complaints about retailers selling books at prices greater than the permitted rates," he explained.
The Abhibhwak Ekta Manch, a parents' organization, filed a complaint alleging improper sales of books, stationery, and uniforms.
The raiding team, including the Sub-inspector of the CM's flying squad and the Block Education Officer of Ballabhgarh, discovered that several books lacked the NCERT emblem and watermark.
The squad confiscated 24 such books to ensure their validity.
"If the accusation is determined to be valid, a case will be filed against the business owner and any other accused," added the ACP.
